ROUTINE PODIATRY

Our Services

Routine Podiatry (formerly Chiropody)

Routine podiatry covers the care and treatment of common foot problems. This may include help with cutting toenails, managing thickened, damaged or fungal nails, and treating corns or calluses.

What to Expect from Your Podiatry Appointment

Initial Appointment (New Patients)

New patients will be asked to complete a medical history form. This helps us understand your general health and any foot concerns you may have.

Your podiatrist will then carry out a comprehensive foot examination, which may include:

    •    Neurovascular assessment – checking circulation and sensation in your feet.

    •    Skin health – identifying issues such as corns, calluses, verrucas, fungal infections, cracked heels etc

    •    Nail health – assessing for ingrown toenails or conditions like fungal or psoriatic nails

    •    Gait and foot structure – observing how you walk and assessing foot alignment.

Based on this assessment, we will create a personalised treatment plan, which may include:

    •    Nail care – professional trimming and filing to prevent problems such as ingrown toenails.

    •    Skin treatments – removal of hard skin, corns, and calluses to reduce pain and improve comfort.

    •    Foot health advice – guidance on footwear, daily care routines, and long-term prevention.

Duration & Follow-up

    •    Initial appointments last up to 1 hour, allowing time for a full assessment and treatment.

    •    Follow-up appointments are usually 30–45 minutes, focusing on ongoing care.

    •    We recommend scheduling visits every 4–8 weeks, depending on your needs, to maintain healthy feet.
