DERMAL FILLERS

Dermal Fillers (Cushioning for Feet)

Walking shouldn’t be painful.

When the natural padding under your feet wears down or painful corns develop in areas of pressure, even simple steps can become uncomfortable. Dermal fillers can help restore cushioning, relieve pain, and make walking enjoyable again.

Professional Care You Can Trust

Dermal fillers for the feet should only be administered by an HCPC-registered podiatrist who has completed the necessary specialist training to carry out this procedure safely.

What Are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers use Hyaluronic Acid (HA) — a naturally occurring substance found in the body that is biocompatible and carries few side effects or contraindications. The HA gel is injected under the skin to restore lost cushioning, reduce pressure, and ease pain.

How Do They Work?

Once introduced into the skin, Hyaluronic Acid stimulates collagen formation and attracts moisture to the area, restoring volume and hydration. This helps create a soft, cushioned surface that protects the foot from pressure and friction.

Who Can Benefit?

Dermal fillers may help if you experience:

  • Painful corns or calluses that keep returning despite routine care

  • Discomfort from loss of natural padding in the ball or heel of the foot (feeling like you’re “walking on pebbles”)

  • Hammer toes with corns on the top or tip

  • A desire for a longer-lasting alternative to padding or insoles

  • A wish to reduce the frequency of repeat podiatry appointments

Most patients experience 6–12 months (or more) of pain relief from a single treatment.

What to Expect

  • Consultation: Your podiatrist will assess your symptoms, medical history, and suitability.

  • Preparation: Includes any necessary debridement, skin cleansing, and administration of local anaesthetic.

  • Injection: Small amounts of Hyaluronic Acid gel are injected precisely where cushioning is needed.

  • Aftercare: Protective dressings are applied, and you’ll be advised to avoid pressure for 24–48 hours for best results.

  • Have undergone an organ transplant
